What you�ll do at BTS We are seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to join the BTS Australia team, playing a critical role in managing day-to-day financial operations and providing meaningful commercial insights to support business growth. This full-time role requires someone who thrives on being involved in the details, while also supporting the leadership team with accurate and timely financial information. You will work closely with the Assistant Accountant, regional leadership, and global finance teams, to ensure financial rigor, compliance, and actionable insights that directly impact the success of our projects and client partnerships. Location: Sydney office (minimum 4 days per week in-office). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Operations & Compliance Oversee daily accounting processes and monthend close activities, ensuring accurate reconciliations, AP/AR, general ledger entries, and financial statements. Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management, and working capital planning. Coordinate the monthly payroll process: liaise with payroll vendors, validate calculations, and oversee leave management. Ensure compliance with statutory and tax obligations, and coordinate with external auditors and tax agents. Commercial Finance & Business Partnership Support pricing, margin analysis, and project profitability evaluations. Prepare and present monthly performance reports, focusing on clear, practical insights into financial results and variances. Collaborate closely with the Managing Director and project teams to ensure financial alignment with business decisions and client contracts. Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.??????? Team Collaboration & Process Improvement Supervise and mentor the Accounts Assistant to ensure smooth dayto-day financial operations Identify opportunities to improve processes and financial workflows, keeping things lean and fitfor-purpose for the current scale of the business. Contribute to ad hoc analysis and business projects as needed.??????? Additional Responsibilities Support global and regional finance initiatives as needed. Undertake ad hoc analysis or projects as assigned by leadership. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA Australia (or equivalent) qualification is required. Minimum 8 years of experience in finance roles with a mix of external audit and commercial finance experience. Strong working knowledge of Australian accounting standards and compliance requirements. Practical experience in financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting. Ability to translate financial data into practical recommendations and communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholders. Hands-on, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently within a small team environment. Experience in services, consulting, or project-based businesses is a plus.
